Marie Curie (born 1867, died 1934) was a pioneering scientist known for her groundbreaking work in physics and chemistry. She was born in Warsaw, Poland, and later worked in France. Marie Curie is best known for her research on radioactivity, a term she coined herself. She became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields—Physics (1903) and Chemistry (1911). Her discoveries changed science and medicine and continue to impact the world today.
